IC Canada 50th Anniversary Event

In September, the USIC joined the Canada IC in its 50th Anniversary Celebration. Austria, Uruguay, Germany, Barbados, US and Canada participated in the 3 days of competition at the Toronto Lawn and Tennis Club. Austria placed first, Germany second, and USA third. Men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles were played each day with each USIC player contributing a win.

Spectators enjoyed a feature match of Uruguay's Fiorella Bonicelli, who has won titles at the French Open, and partner against USIC's Tammy Simone and Betsy Savitt. With many deuce games the Uruguay team won. The celebration included a player dinner banquet, lunch and Toronto Harbor Cruise, a trip to Niagara Falls, and a tour and lunch at Henry of Pelham Winery.
