Fourteen nations were represented and included such players as Tom Okker for the Netherlands and Zeljko Franulovic for Monaco. the US was seeded one and received a bye the first day. On day 2 the US easily defeated Switzerland 6-0. Against Germany in the semis the US split 3-3 but the Germans were awarded the victory by having won one more set. Parenthetically in the finals the Germans lost to the French by one set.

Numerous social occasions were welcomed by all the players. An opening cocktail party was followed with a friendship dinner at the Monte Carlo Country Club. The Mayor of Monaco held a reception at the Exotic Garden overlooking Monaco and the final celebration dinner was at the Place du Casino in Monte Carlo. As usual the overall winner was international fellowship and great camaraderie.
